7 Great Locations for Senior Sex

In my senior community, there are rumors of couples caught in the act at night on a hill overlooking a golf course. Recent research indicates that seniors are not unimaginative when it comes to choosing locations for sexual connections. Although the bedroom is the most popular location, seniors also use many other locations in their homes and elsewhere.

If sex has become routine or repetitive, it might help to change the location. Sex in a new location can bring a sense of adventure, freshness, and excitement.

1. In the Bedroom

The bedroom is the most popular location for sex for good reasons. It’s a comfortable, private, safe space for sexual play. A bed is a comfortable setting for sex in many different positions. There are other features found in most bedrooms that can be used to aid a sexual connection.

If you have a headboard at the head of the bed, the woman can grasp onto it for leverage as she moves on top of the man. Or, one of the partners can sit back against the wall or headboard for support while the other sits between their spread legs. This can be a very nurturing position, where the partner behind can wrap their arms around their partner and kiss, caress, and stimulate the genitals of the other partner.

Bedrooms are great locations for comfortable sex, and provide many options to keep sex interesting.

One advantage of using the bedroom is that pillows are readily available. Pillows can be placed underneath the woman’s hips to raise her for easier access for oral sex. A woman can lay her upper body on pillows to make sex from behind more comfortable, and provide an angle for penetration that both partners enjoy.

A woman can stand and lean over the back of the sofa or an arm for sex from behind. A woman or a man can sit on a sofa, while their partner kneels or sits on the floor in front of them to perform oral sex.

3. On a Chair

A kitchen chair or overstuffed chair can be used for different sex positions. A man can sit on a chair and the woman can straddle him facing either direction. 4. In the Kitchen

Some people enjoy sex using a kitchen table or countertop. A woman can lean over a table, resting her front upper body on the table while the man enters her from the back. Or, she can stand up, leaning back against the table while spreading her legs, and the man can get between her legs. If the table is sturdy, you can have sex on the kitchen table in the missionary position, from the back, or with the woman on top.

A man or woman can lean back or lay down on the edge of the table with their legs spread, and their partner can get between their spread legs to give them oral sex. Kitchen cabinets can be used the same way as a table.

5. On the Floor

You can have sex in any position you choose to on the floor of any room in your home. This includes the bathroom, the living room, the kitchen, and the bedroom.

Most seniors would find bare flooring too hard and uncomfortable for older knees and elbows. Use a blanket, sleeping bag, or throw rug (sheepskin rugs are wonderful for this!) to soften the surface. Beware of rug burn when knees rub against carpeting in positions where your body weight is supported on your knees or elbows, such as missionary and from the back.

6. Outside

Having sex outside can make sex an exhilarating adventure. According to Cory Stieg, “The rules of having sex outdoors are pretty straightforward: Be safe, come prepared, and try not to do anything illegal.”

The safest location for sex outside is on your home’s private patio or in your enclosed backyard. You have the sense of being daring and exciting without the danger of getting arrested for lewd activity in public.

The second-best location for sex outside is in a remote location in the woods. Make sure you pick a location that is away from any established walking paths or trails, and that provides enough cover for you to slip something on if you see or hear others approaching.

Sex on a beach can also be fun, but make sure you are in a truly private area. Take a blanket to help keep sand out of areas where it can be particularly uncomfortable.

The safest location for sex outside is on your home’s private patio or in your enclosed backyard.

There are many sex positions that work well outside. A favorite on hiking trips is the woman on all fours, with the man taking her from the back. In this position, you don’t have to completely undress, and only your knees and hands are on the ground. This eliminates the need to find a soft, even, and dry spot to lay down, and makes almost any private location an option.

7. In a Hotel Room

“Vacation sex” is a term that refers to the fact that many people become more amorous when they’re on a vacation. You don’t have to travel to Paris to get the same feelings. All you need to do is rent a motel room where you live or in a nearby city.

The change of location and different furnishings can make sex feel exciting. Perhaps it’s the taboo sense of meeting a lover in a hotel room. Consider renting a room with a king-sized bed to allow different positions. A large walk-in shower or spa tub for two can also be a fun variation.

Keeping Sex Interesting with Different Locations

Keep your sex life alive and interesting by having sex in different locations. Always having sex in your bed can be a factor in making sex boring and routine.

Mix it up by trying sex in other locations.
